Young Adults Ministries

Who Are We?

We exist to:

 – Disciple young adults to seek after Jesus with all their heart, soul and mind.

 – Provide opportunities for fellowship and relationships between churches in SQ.

 – Support local church young adult programs.

 – Encourage and develop leaders.

 – Provide opportunities to serve in local and overseas missions.

District Activities and Programs

Awakening – Annual Young Adult Camp

Each year during the middle weekend of the winter school holidays, up to 100 young adults from around the district gather at QCCC Mapleton for a weekend of fun, fellowship, worship and teaching. All young adults aged 18-29 are very welcome to attend. Registrations usually open in April. More information will be available around Easter each year through your local church.

Annual Overseas Short Term Missions

If you’ve ever wanted to experience short term missions, the district has an opportunity each year for a small group of young adults to travel to one of our WWM locations.

Local Missions

Teams of young adults from local churches often travel to regional churches such as Gayndah, Goombungee, Coochie Mudlo Island and Hodgsonvale for a variety of reasons from working bees, to leading worship, to preaching or for any need that a church may have. If you think your young adults group would like to help in this way, please contact Nathan Bell for more information.

Discover Program – Leadership Development

Discover is a 12 month program for young adults who feel called into the ministry in some way but are unsure what that would look like.  Over 3 saturday’s plus a prayer weekend, together we seek God for his calling on our lives. Discover isn’t a college subject and there is no assessment, it’s a time of seeking, exploring and praying with other like minded young adults. A new group kicks off in January every year (meetings are generally held at Hills Church in Everton Hills). At the conclusion of the program, those who are interested are invited to travel to the USA for the annual FUEL leadership conference and to hear personal testimonies from some of our international leaders of the WMC. If you would like more information, please contact Nathan Bell. Contact details are at the bottom of this page.
